Manchester. Cambridge Street; proposal for a technology hub for MMU. 2014
The first draft plan, with two towers on opposing diagonal corners. The square became an octagon.
Planning sheet. Cambridge Street/Chester Street. Project for a digital hub for the North West including digital archive and IT development areas. Roof garden and tower restaurant. Designed as a basilica + factory space with aubergine cladding.
First draft as model. Roof garden as a city garden. Chester Street is partly woodland at left
Watercolour drawing of the site with Cambridge Street horizontal left to right
Cambridge Street; final draft. Incorporates a waterfall tower on the left. Black box is the IT hub which is made from dark grey railway brick. Split in the site allows for cyclists and pedestrians to cut through the site. The vision is a small medieval town with very high tech materials
Western view of project with split in the site clearly visible. A small semi private park is opened up here. Concave glass panels very effective at drawing in the environment
Entrance from the small park created on Chester Street with waterfall "strata" tower at right. Entrance is in the cleft beside the waterfall and the flat panel glass structure in line with the tower
